Innovative and forward-thinking mechanical and electrical design and installation contractor The Castle Building Services Organisation(Castle), has signed up to support PlanBEE.
Established by Ryder Architecture, PlanBEE is an industry wide partnership of companies who want people with a new and broader set of skills in their businesses. Comprising some of the most recognised brands in the industry and niche SMEs, they have committed to work together to shape the talent of the future and inspire people to consider a rewarding career in a broad range of technical and professional roles in architecture, engineering, surveying and construction.
Castle is the only M&E contractor to sign up to the innovative scheme, which is a clear demonstration of its commitment to training and providing opportunities for trainees and future employees to widen their skills set.
All partners involved in PlanBEE have a long track record of recruiting and training apprentices and graduates and have worked with Gateshead College to develop a bespoke programme of on and off the job training which provides a salary and a fast track to graduation and professional accreditation and offers a guaranteed job to those who successfully complete.
Speaking about the firm’s decision to get involved with PlanBEE, Castle’s technical director, Simon Groom, said:
“As a company, we pride ourselves on creating sustainable jobs and providing employees with real career opportunities across the business. We are delighted to be part of PlanBee and look forward to supporting the initiative.”
“The PlanBee model is an innovative one and a great way for anyone interested in construction to gain first-hand experience of the wide variety of disciplines and jobs that are available when working in the built environment. We have already had the pleasure of assisting Ewan Simpson and are currently working with Lewis Johnson. Both have shown great promise already.”
