CONTRACTOR ON BOARD FOR COLLEGE RELOCATION

A game-changing project to transform South Shields town centre has taken a major step forward.A contractor has been appointed to deliver the relocation of South Tyneside College.The move will see South Tyneside College and South Shields Marine School relocate from its current Westoe site into the heart of the town centre.Castle has been selected to carry out construction of the new 15,000sq m campus, following a competitive tender process.

South-Tyneside based, Castle, is continuing its long-term support of the PlanBEE higher apprenticeship programme and has announced the appointment of Ryan Taylor as a trainee BIM coordinator and Ethan Chambers as trainee construction site engineer.The company has also welcomed Rafi Abdulmubin and Taylor Dolan, who are currently undertaking a four-month placement.
